What we need is native previews for smoother operation. In the video he describes a sort of workaround, but there are problems with this approach: a) it's too time intensive for a pro studio where you need an efficient and smooth workflow b) even if you establish the small JPEG at the top of the stack he describes, you won't necessarily know whether or not you've actually saved an AFPHOTO version of a given file without opening the stack. A huge reason for this in my opinion is the lack of thumbnail previews. For now, it IS the best FREE file manager available for its broad feature set. But to be honest, its still not satisfactory for use with Affinity products. I'm a pro photographer, and thus far, I stick with Adobe Bridge CC as my file manager pretty much 95% of the time. Here's a YouTube video about using it with AP I'm not a photographer so I'm not sure how well this solution will work, but apparently Adobe Bridge is (and always has been) free. But since this is also missing a lot of features, it's nowhere close to perfect for as long as it has been around. Since I'm paying for CC anyway, I'm currently using LR but I don't really care for it. One thing I do really like about it, which has nothing to do with the development process, is the ability to create an online gallery and have people vote, pick or download images. I've used Lightroom, Aperture and Capture One in the past and each one always felt like they were missing something. Of course this is not always possible, but being able to save most of the basic changes in the RAW file, XML or DAM database is a huge help. I do most of my image corrections on the RAW file itself, so that I don't need to create another psd/tif or whatever file. Mostly I'd love to be able to view, metatag and process batches of RAW files. The file browser of macOS is getting better at stuff like that, but still to change EXIF data, I'd love to be able to stay in the affinity environment. Usually, though, I can move through the images faster than I can Rate them.I just came on here to suggest some sort of DAM (actually image management and RAW processing) to be able to lose Lightroom - another missing link to avoid CC completely for a large number of people - and then I found this poll, so I chimed in. If you have a large number of large images in the folder you are culling/rating, IMatch can usually go through them pretty quickly, but as you've seen there it's possible to see some caching delays (look for the progression of green check marks when using the Viewer). Expect some improvements from DxO in the future, but managing metadata is much more easily and completely handled in IMatch.). This is much easier/simpler than trying to use DxO to select images for processing (DxO PL 3 does read Ratings, but as you've seen it doesn't yet store Ratings changes in a way that other applications can read. From there, I drag and drop selected Ratings images for processing onto a Favorite for (usually) DxO. There I do all my preliminary metadata entry including Rating, geocoding, renaming/etc. My workflow is similar to Mario's, except I usually directly drop images from a memory card directly into a camera|date based folder structure. others also follow a similar software path as you do. That workflow has suited me for many years. and this data and then available for any external software such as online galleries, stock photo databases, etc. I write all metadata back to the JPG images as well so they contain a full XMP record of my hard work. I rarely go back to my original RAW images so the database is now perfect. searching, exporting, viewing, sharing, etc. My IMatch database is then used for all Image related things moving forward. Import Finalized JPG's into Imatch to rate, keywords, Geo Tag, export to online galleries, etc.Import RAW files from disk to Capture One: Edit RAW images, further cull and Export full resolution JPG's to Mirrored Drive (same filename/paths).Import RAW images from multiple cameras SD cards using Photo Mechanic: Import, rename by date/camera model, file by Year/Month, Cull obvious bad shots.Having said that, my workflow involves only including finalized JPG images in my IMatch database so I do all my initial culling outside the software so I don't have to deal with extra RAW files and the processing of them. honestly! Culling can be done through the Viewer, via the preview panel as well as by using just very large thumbnails in the File Window. You will find lots of variety in workflows as there is no "one shoe fits all" for everyone. I would suggest doing a quick search on "workflow" as this topic has been discussed many, many times over the years. Martin was assassinated on the 4th of April, 1968, barely 24 hours after the official release of the album. Receiving many accolades and positive reviews from industry players, it established the duo as a group to reckon with in the world of rock music.ĭespite the album’s release coinciding with the death of American civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr., it was met with overwhelming support from the public. “Bookends”, considered by many as the best album from Simon & Garfunkel, became the turning point in their music career. The album got into the public domain through Columbia Records, a record label under Sony Music Group. “Bookends” was produced through the collaborative efforts of the group and Roy Halee, an American singer, record producer and a long-time collaborator of Simon & Garfunkel. Recording was done between 19 at Columbia Studio B & E, located in Manhattan, New York City. The duo released “Bookends” on April 3 of 1968 as their 4th studio album. “Bookends” is an album by arguably the biggest rock duos of the 1960s, Simon & Garfunkel. This was when he spent about a year in England. And Bob Johnston (1932-2015), arguably one of the most notable behind-the-scene’ musicians of the late-20 th century, produced the track. “A Hazy Shade of Winter” was written by Paul Simon during the mid-1960s. My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way and Ray Toro also covered this tune in 2019 for usage on Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy series. It also achieved top 20 status on the both the Billboard Hot 100 and Cash Box Top 100. Where it performed most impressively was in Canada, where the song peaked at number 11 on RPM Top Singles. To note this track was covered, to greater success, by The Bangles in 1987. “A Hazy Shade of Winter” made it onto the top 30 of the UK Singles Chart. their third studio album, which actually did come out in 1966. It was originally a standalone release but eventually serving as the lead single to 1968’s “Bookends”, which proved to be Simon & Garfunkel’s penultimate studio album. As such, “A Hazy Shade of Winter” was actually recorded when the pair was working on “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme”, i.e. This track was released on 22 October 1966. the vocalist rather perceiving winter all around. What the lyrics further reveal is that internally the vocalist is going through a hard time – something like a midlife crisis if you will – where he’s looking at himself and is not impressed with what he’s accomplished thus far. Relatedly, the second verse can be interpreted as him being impoverished, as in being in need of assistance from the Salvation Army, which is a well-known charity organization.Īnd it may also be such an institution that inspired the third verse, where the vocalist comes off as if he’s regularly the recipient of uplifting advice. But actually feeling more optimistic is easier said than done. However, it does appear that he makes an attempt. But the fourth verse and outro take us back to the first, i.e. Well, we know that this doesn’t speak to his personal or at least concurrent situation when he wrote it, as Simon did so shortly after the release of “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme”, which proved to a be a pretty successful album for him and Garfunkel. So think about the things that I've said and please let this advice be the lasting mark I've made on humanity, because I am old and my time and ability to contribute to life in other meaningful ways is over.It has been offered that Simon is relaying these lyrics from the perspective of a poet – a theory that is verified in the fourth verse – who has lost hope. Start anew and recapture your sense of possibility.Ĥth verse: Please learn from my experience that your time will go by and you won't even notice as it's going until it's gone. Verse 3: And in striving to serve humanity and better the world in some way, don't Give Up! If things go wrong or seem hopeless, start over even if you just have to pretend that you believe you can succeed in your goals. When you hold your cup out to collect from the world, are your goals only self-serving? Because you would have a more meaningful ride through life if the things you did served to benefit humanity. Verse 2: Think carefully about the goals you choose to strive for. General CommentFirst Verse: My life is ending now, and looking back, I realize that I missed out on things I should have done because I was seeking perfect, fool-proof, failure free, guaranteed opportunities. Simply pretend that you can build them againįunny how my memory skips while looking over manuscripts While I looked around for my possibilitiesĭown by the riverside's, there's bound to be a better ride Resorting to an internet search, we learned that the emergency shifter release is a cable-and-lever arrangement hidden beneath the plastic engine cover, and we finally got the Velar onto the flatbed. When that didn't work, we searched for a manual release in or near the console, perhaps under the cupholder insert as in some other JLR products. The owner's manual instructed us to cycle the system through a series of commands to restore the dial's functionality. When the tow truck arrived, we learned that the Velar's electronics had failed to sufficiently prevent its electronic rotary shifter from operating, effectively leaving the transmission stuck in park and the pop-up dial planted in its lowered position. This necessitated a tow to the dealership, which sounds simpler than it turned out to be. That's on top of the $283 we paid for the Velar's scheduled 32,000-mile service visit that included an oil change, inspection, and the aforementioned cabin air-filter replacement.Ī particularly worrisome unscheduled warranty repair was required at nearly 31,000 miles to fix a broken wire in the Velar's telematics control unit, which immobilized the vehicle in the driveway at a staffer's home. The cost of basic care since our last update has added to our regular Range Rover bothers, including the $187 the dealer charged to replace three wiper blades and the $139 we shelled out to have service techs clean leaves out of the (still-new) cabin air filter, which had made it sound as if a playing card were stuck in the blower motor of the truck's climate-control system. As with many touchscreen-heavy interfaces these days, the Velar's glossy center stack is often coated in a haze of fingerprints. Our complaints about Jaguar Land Rover's dual-screen InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system have been tempered-a software update by the dealer at 27,000 miles seems to have fixed many glitches and its tendency to reboot itself middrive-but the system remains sluggish, especially upon initial startup, and less intuitive to navigate than we'd like. And so it is with our long-term 2018 Range Rover Velar, which, despite its stylish design and luxurious trappings, continues to grate on us as its odometer clicks past 33,000 miles.Īlthough our tony $67,235 Range Rover exudes curbside presence, many drivers struggle to find a comfortable seating position because of the electrically adjustable steering column's modest range of tilt and our particular example's lack of lumbar seat adjustment. It's often the minor day-to-day quirks and occurrences, rather than life's big events and achievements, that guide a relationship's well-being. Growing up, he listened to music that his older sister listened to, including artists such as Soundgarden since he liked the band's use of odd meters in their songs. Henrik Linder was born in Sweden and started playing piano at age 4. His songwriting and music production skills caused him to be well sought after by many, including Jenny Berggren, a former member of the band Ace of Base. Later, he joined Danny Saucedo's tour as backing vocals and keyboardist. He met Aron Mellergård and wrote songs together in the vein of groovy funk, inspired by music of the 80's and bands like Toto. Īt age 17, he collaborated with Arvid Svenungsson to produce a biblical-based musical centered on the character Job. He attended various music schools including Sodra Latin, Adolf Fredrik School of Music, Betel College and the Royal Music Academy in Stockholm. In his final year at high school, he switched over to jazz piano studies. He also started learning the double bass at age eight, but quickly made a switch to piano lessons in classical music at age 11, inspired by one of his favorite Chopin pieces, Fantasie Impromptu in C sharp minor. As soon as I was at the top the first thing, I saw was two what appeared to me to be locals (I was on the whole tour and never saw these people.) As the ushers and cops were trying to put some of the boards in place as they said, "go ahead and put them back we will just tear it down again. When they were all in, I headed back up to the fence. As we stood in shocked amazement, I knew it was bad. Then the boards started coming off the fence. The first person over I saw hopped the chain link on the side. I in no way applauded this group as I started screaming GO DOWN GO DOWN they are going to push the fence down on us. I saw one deadhead who WAS on tour running the length of the crowd urging them on. One was walking back and forth with a dog. I heard the commotion outside and looked through the fence and saw people as much as three deep at a marked off line where about six cops stood in a line. ain't that just like the Dead? There's always more than "a concert"!! It was surreal to say the least and the therapy worked but VERY differently than I thought it would. Louis tix thinking it'd be more of the same perhaps (2 people died I think from a porch collapse after a show there) & hung out in Chicago & ended up catching the last 2 shows ever. Sooo, when they canceled the next day we sold our St. i felt bad since my body contributed to the number of people outside even though we did nothing "wrong". Man the Boys were so pissed that when they left the venue the tour bus was in a constant semi-truck horn mode. We did end up force-laughing it off to just get through the night not realizing what the fools had actually done until after the show & our friend told us the "inside" story. We were horrified & of course this all spun us into a funky trip from hell. But when I saw the mob headed up the hill toward the gates/fence we stood up in awe, wondering what violence the cops did to trigger this since these jackbooted idiots were EVERYWHERE that night. Me & a friend were tripping our brains out by the water listening while another friend was inside taping. I was there outside too but with tix for the next night & for the rest of the tour. It was only my 3rd show (gimme a break, I lived in oppressive Arkansas until around that time). I was embarrassed to even be outside on the grounds at all after the nioght was over. I was 21 at the time & felt 60 because of what the youth did that night. I was there for "therapy" to deal with the OKC bombing fallout as my sister had died in it, but that whole week taught me other lessons about life like the utter stupidity & selfishness the youth had become & how NOT to be when faced with shitty situations. Three of the six campaigns use a malicious Excel downloader that has not been observed in other campaigns, while two campaigns use ISO image files to distribute the payloads these ISO files probably are created by a boutique ISO builder that has supplied previous campaigns delivering ITG23 payloads.įurthermore, five of the six campaigns directly download CobaltStrike, Meterpreter, or AnchorMail onto the target machine. In 2021, X-Force analysts tracked several campaigns that were probably carried out directly by ITG23 personnel,” the research added. “None of these campaigns are consistent with the techniques that known ITG23 third-party distribution affiliates are using to deliver the payloads to their targets. X-Force assesses that the Trickbot group is controlling the delivery of the emails and malware and that independent distribution affiliates do not execute them. Successful attacks that resulted in data theft or ransomware would provide ITG23 with additional extortion opportunities, and particularly damaging attacks could harm Ukraine’s economy,” it added. “The systematic attacks observed against Ukraine include reported and suspected phishing attacks against Ukrainian state authorities, Ukrainian individuals and organizations, and the general population. “ITG23 is a financially motivated cybercriminal gang known primarily for developing the Trickbot banking Trojan, which was first identified in 2016 since that time the group has used its payloads to gain a foothold in victim environments for ransomware attacks, including Ryuk, Conti, and Diavol,” IBM said. The Trickbot group campaigns against Ukraine are notable due to the extent to which this activity differs from historical precedent and the fact that these campaigns appeared specifically aimed at Ukraine with some payloads that suggest a higher degree of target selection. Four of these campaigns have been disclosed by CERT-UA, which tracks them under the group name UAC-0098, while this analysis introduces two newly uncovered campaigns by X-Force, it added. The research said that X-Force analysts had investigated at least six ITG23 campaigns specifically targeting Ukraine between mid-April and mid-June. “Prior to the Russian invasion, ITG23 had not been known to target Ukraine, and much of the group’s malware was even configured to not execute on systems if the Ukrainian language was detected,” they added. “Between mid-April and mid-June of 2022 the Trickbot group, tracked by X-Force as ITG23 and also known as Wizard Spider, DEV-0193, and the Conti group, has conducted at least six campaigns - two of which have been discovered by X-Force - against Ukraine, during which they deployed IcedID, CobaltStrike, AnchorMail, and Meterpreter,” the researchers wrote in a blog post on Thursday. The attacks marked an unprecedented shift as the group had not previously targeted Ukraine and came following ongoing research by the team. IBM Security X-Force has uncovered evidence indicating that the Russia-based cybercriminal syndicate ‘Trickbot group’ has been systematically attacking Ukraine since the Russian invasion.
